BIG UPDATE

Hey ya'll! We have big news to share so we'll get right to the point!

We are expecting a bundle of joy on June 22, 2009!
This is the first ultrasound picture we had taken on December 8th. We got to see our little one's arms and legs moving and you could SEE it's heartbeat! The little one had the hiccups at one point during the ultrasound and we saw it suck its thumb! SO AMAZING! The doctor looked around for a while and since I was just 12 weeks on the Dec. 8, he pushed and pushed and after a little while, the little one even turned a bit. Nate laughed and later said "It was saying 'Here's what I think of you pushing on me!' and turned it's butt towards us!"

In terms of pregnancy symptoms, I haven't experienced morning sickness. Before the pregnancy, I ate breakfast every morning and typically woke up thinking "FOOD!!!" Now, I'm not hungry first thing in the morning but haven't had any nausea. Otherwise, life has been greatly affected by this back pain I referenced in an earlier post. Actually, it was so bad for about 2 weeks that I avoided updating the blog because it was all I could really think about! I'm sorry guys and we will get some updates up here after the busy holiday season. As for the back pain, it is sciatica but they can't tell me what is causing it because they can't do a MRI or take xrays. I had trouble with sciatica in January but it was caused by muscles spasms. Now I am not having muscle spasms so we are not sure what is going on. I took some prescription medicine for about 5 days until the intense pain passed and have been going to the chiropractor regularly. Those things with rest have stopped the pain but my back gets really tired easily. Otherwise, I'm just starting to actually "feel pregnant" now. My clothes are getting tight and I'm starting to show. For those of you who haven't see me this year, I made Lifetime on Weight Watchers earlier this year and was the smallest I have been in about a decade! Hopefully, that helps me keep this a healthy pregnancy.

As for Nate, he's been working a lot and keeping really busy! He helped me when my back was hurting a lot and is really excited about the little one!

Have a good Christmas Eve! We love you all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,

P.S. Again, sorry for the lack of posts recently. I (Stacy) have been having severe back pain and actually made my first trip to the emergency room about a week and half ago. Keep us in your prayers but things are getting better! Updates coming soon! :)

ARCHIVE: Christmas 2007

With the start of the holiday season upon us, we thought we would share some pictures from last year's holiday. We went and cut down our very own live Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. There is a really neat place near our house called Mike's Farm and they have strawberries (in season of course!), pumpkins, hay rides, Festival of Lights hayrides, a country store, restaurant and petting zoo. My mom, Karen, was with us for Thanksgiving and she helped take a few pictures as we selected our tree.
Yes, it was about 8 feet tall! It is a good thing the ceilings in our living are vaulted!

Nate cut down our tree himself! Aww!

Our tree all cleaned up and ready to go home :)

And afterward, we had a really awesome shrimp-fest!
Mom gave us some of our Christmas presents early so that we could enjoy the holiday presents during the season, hehe!

We decorated our house, inside and out, for Christmas. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any of the pictures with the lights on at night. Enjoy the hilarious picture of Nate putting lights up on the peak of our garage!!

And lastly, a couple of shots of us opening our Christmas presents on Christmas Day. Please pardon the laziness and relaxed clothing but I had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so the holidays were kind of busy and exhausting!
Yes, Taz would sit for a picture but Bob wouldn't hang around long enough for a family picture.

Nate helping Taz open up his stocking.

Me helping Kitty Bob open his stocking.

Nate gave me Disney Monopoly!

Me hugging my massage chair from Mom! Ahhhhh.....

Taz getting in on the picture love :)

Nate opening Ice Road Truckers Season 1
He would really like Season 2 for Christmas this year ;)

Here's to a blessed and wonderful holiday season!

Love,

Apology and Ramblings

Ok guys, we'll start this one off with a BIG

You know those times when it seems like life has handed you a million things to do? Well, we've been in one of those "funks" for the last few weeks. We promise the coming weeks will be much more interesting!

Sooooo....since back at the first of October, Nate started a Motor Transport course. He doesn't report to his current unit but instead to a schoolhouse at Camp Johnson. He is "class leader" of 22 students and has been rather busy keeping up with that. His graduation is November 21st! We are going to his original unit's Birthday Ball (that means there will be people we know there!!) this coming Friday night in Wilmington. We have been to this hotel for a Ball before so it should be a good time. We are staying at the Hilton just across the water from Battleship North Carolina. We are planning to spend Saturday wandering around downtown (if the weather is nice like it was today!) and if we have time we may visit the Battleship again. We went last December with Jerry, Velva, Jody and Amber.
One of our favorite Italian restaurants (yes, we have more than one!!) is right there, too! We can't wait! Oh lookie, lookie...they have a website, too!!! Fat Tony's is awesome! And in case you are curious, the other 'favorite Italian place' in Wilmington is Carrabba's! Mmmm!

The weather here has been crazy the last few days. Today it was beautiful and 70 degrees. Earlier this week it was 33 degrees at 8am! I think for Christmas we want one of those thermometers that tell you the temperature BEFORE you go outside! Brrr!

Well, we still need to share a few pictures from our trip to VA to make applebutter, our Halloween costumes and a cool food/church thingie we found! Those updates are coming but first we need to rest.

Thanks for reading gang and we promise it'll get better! ;)
