BUSCH GARDENS!

Last weekend, we went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA as an anniversary getaway. A bunch of our friends went with us and we had an absolute blast! We didn't take very many pictures because we were so busy but here are a few from our Saturday at the park.
Nate and our friend, John, had to express their manliness by trying to ring the bell... Nate got really close...but neither of them actually got the bell to ring.

On Sunday, we had lunch and walked around Colonial Williamsburg before heading home. Here is a tired Nate and Stacy.
Our friends John and Lori showed us around Williamsburg. (Hey look! Last picture to upload and I finally figured out how to crop and do special effects on our pictures...yay!!)
We had a really good time in Williamsburg and at Busch Gardens! It was a very nice way to celebrate our anniversary with friends!

Second Wedding Anniversary

August 12th was our second wedding anniversary. Because Nate was firing at the range that week (re:getting up at 3am!) we decided to have dinner and movie night at home. We also shared...
Flowers AND Fruit!
And a brand new video game, too!

There were two dozen red, white and pink roses along with a basket from Edible Arrangements! The roses were beautiful and smelled really good! The basket of fruit included pineapple cut in the shape of hearts and chocolate dipped strawberries! A very nice snack while we enjoyed our anniversary movie "date".
For our meal, we had shrimp cocktail and Nate's favorite Greek Chicken with rice and broccoli. An easy and tasty meal!

Of course, no family event would be complete without our animals! Here are Bob and Taz taken WHILE we were eating our anniversary dinner. Silly animals!
Our second year together was really only our first whole year "together" and even that was interrupted by three out-of-state exercises and a two-month deployment to Africa! It's been a long road but there is no one else in the world we would rather share it with than each other!

Here's to another great year and the many amazing things we have yet to share together!

ARCHIVE: Nate's 30th Birthday

We have decided that we want to share as much of our lives together with you all and have found this blog to be a very useful tool. Since we didn't start this blog until March of 2008 but our memories together start back in August of 2002; if we have something "older" or not really current to share with you, the entry will be begin with "ARCHIVE".

What better way to start the ARCHIVE series than Nathan's 30th birthday!! We went to Shogun Japanese Steak House in Jacksonville. Shogun is the local hibachi restaurant that serves up some really good food.

We had enough friends show up to occupy a whole table, got one of the good chefs and even had them sing to Nate. Oh, FUN! (Sorry about the bad lighting and randomness at the end; our waiter took the video for us.)

And, of course, there was birthday cake! [That's just a LITTLE payback from getting me at the wedding!] Happy Birthday, old man! ;)

Fountains of Bellagio

Vegas Part Deux

I know it has been over a month since I promised more pictures and such from my trip to Vegas back in May, but it has been crazy here!

My mom and I went to Vegas not really knowing what shows were out there. And, let me tell you, there are tons! We decided on The Blue Man Group! Wow! That was a fun show! I wish I could share videos but they pretty much threaten you before the show starts that if you video or take pictures, your seat will be ejected from the theater! Hilarious! These guys are amazing because we laughed and laughed but they never spoke. Not once. The show involves lots of special effects with black lights, florescent paint, odd musical instruments and some science. We sat in the Rear Orchestra and got a good view of everything. The front five rows of the theater are called "Poncho Area" as they give them plastic ponchos to wear, in case they get paint on them.

Here I am all "decorated" for the show. They tell you that the more "decorated" you are, the more the Blue men know you want to interact with them during the show. And, well, let's just say that white streamer has a lot to do with the end of the show.
When Mom called to reserve the tickets the ticket lady said it best: "You will laugh and have a great time but when it is over, you won't know how to put it in words." If you get a chance to see the Blue Show, DO IT!

After the show, I got to met each of the three Blue men that were in the show.



The Blue Man Group was playing at the Venetian so we decided to walk to the Bellagio to see the water fountain display. Mom had been before but was still amazed. I think these two things were my favorite part of the Vegas. Now, don't get me wrong; if I had hit the jackpot (or...well...won ANYTHING!) that would have been my favorite part. However, the day of Blue Man Group and Bellagio was the best! I took a bunch of pictures but here is my favorite picture (again!) and a video!
